Jos school collapse: IA Foundation donates N250,000 to Saint Academy School

The IA Foundation, a non-governmental organization, has donated N250,000 to Saint Academy School following a building collapse.

In a statement issued yesterday, the foundation’s founder, Mrs. Ibironke Adeagbo, extended her deepest sympathies to everyone affected by the collapse.

Ibironke described the incident as heart-wrenching and expressed shared grief during this challenging time.

She emphasised that the loss of young lives and injuries sustained by many others is a tragedy that touches everyone deeply.

She commended the bravery and resilience of those who worked tirelessly to assist the victims and expressed hope that the school finds solace in the support from the community.

She urged a speedy recovery for the community in honour of the lost ones.

She said: “In light of this tragic event, we stand ready to offer any assistance within our capacity to aid in the recovery and support efforts of the affected students and their families. To this end, we are donating N250,000 to assist in these efforts.

“On behalf of the IA Foundation, I wish to extend our deepest sympathies to you, your staff, the students, and the families affected by the tragic collapse of your school building in Jos.

“We are saddened by this heart-wrenching incident and share your grief during this challenging time.

We hope that you find solace in the support of those around you and that, in time, the school community will recover and rebuild, honouring the memories of those we have lost.

“The loss of young lives and the injury too many others is a tragedy that touches us all deeply.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with you, the students, and their families as you navigate this unimaginable ordeal.

We commend the bravery and resilience of everyone involved, especially the first responders and medical teams working tirelessly to assist those in need.

“IA Foundation is committed to supporting educational institutions and the welfare of children with a particular focus on out-of-school children.”
