The former CAF president Issa Hayatou passes away at 77

The legendary African football Chief and administrator passed away at the age of 77, he holds the record as the longest serving CAF President.

He was at the President of African football for 29 years, before losing to challenger Ahmad of Madagascar in 2017 in what was a major shakeup for the sport on the continent.

He served as the acting FIFA president until 26 February 2016 as previous president Sepp Blatter was banned from all football-related activities in 2015 as a part of the that year’s FIFA corruption investigation.
